The best of London’s hotel restaurants: From HIX Mayfair to The Ritz

When working out where’s best to dine around London, hotel restaurants aren’t necessarily the first idea that springs to mind.  However this capital’s best chefs are usually found associated with these kitchens. Michelin starred dining, restored 19th century architecture and Mayfair post codes – temporary accommodation has never served such glamorous food.

HIX Mayfair is an excellent example of traditional British fine dining. The menu offering sustainably caught fish, changes every three weeks.  HIX is located inside Browns hotel, the oldest hotel in London, built in 1837, it showcases work by artists including John Rankin and Tracey Emin.  Their stand out main was a fillet of Kingairloch red deer with a flavourful spiced haggis encased in a cabbage wrapping and woodland mushrooms.  Hix delivers with top quality classic cooking, locally caught and foraged produce and excellent service.
