Cleveland VegFest shows plant-based diet growing

This month’s Cleveland, Ohio VegFest has shown that even in traditionally non-vegan friendly cities, the plant-based diet is gaining steam. There was a VegFest in Cleveland last Saturday, but it didn’t involve relaxing; it was all about the vegan lifestyle.

The first VegFest event was held at Cleveland State University.

There were authors, speakers and an all-day food court where people could try out different vegan food options from all over the world.

Organizers said there’s a growing number of people in Cleveland choosing to cut meat, fish and chicken out of their diets. They wanted a fun way to showcase what they say are the benefits of veganism.
